For healthcare providers of all specialties

Not just family doctors. Nurses and nurse practitioners as well.

The Primary Care Toolkit from Trans Care BC provides contagious guidelines for the care of our transgender patients.

Updated in December 2020,  this resource continues the groundbreaking work in gender-affirming care that has evolved from Vancouver-based healthcare providers for more than a decade. For those unfamiliar, TransCare BC is the provincially funded organization that oversees the provision of health services and training for trans and gender-nonconforming people living in British Columbia, Canada.

The toolkit provides guidance for transmasculine and feminizing hormone-based treatments as well as surgical options. It includes a section on providing care to Indigenous and Two-Spirit patients, that considers the impacts of colonization and the context of Western medicine.
